FAQ’s

Are you interested in knowing more about renting or driving a motorhome? Have a look at our list of frequently asked questions.

Can we rent a motorhome in winter?

Yes! Absolutely. All our motorhomes are equipped with winter tires, snow chains and a very efficient heating system making it possible to sleep all night comfortably in the motorhome. Many ski resorts allow their guests to park overnight in their car parks. Christmas time is very popular for traveling across Europe. Picturesque villages, Christmas markets, frozen ponds and all of that covered with snow. This fairy-tale like atmosphere will leave you speechless. Due to the limited number of motorhomes with winter setup and growing popularity of winter travelling, do not hesitate with your booking.

Is the price in the quote final?

Yes. The price includes VAT, road tax, and all services and equipment. At the time of a pick up, a vehicle security deposit of 1500 € is required. The deposit is fully refundable upon return of the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition, on the agreed date at the agreed location. The tank of diesel fuel must be full, the toilet holding tank must be emptied and clean, and there must be no damage or equipment missing. Rarely, we have to charge a 100€ fee for heavy cleaning if the motorhome is not returned reasonably clean inside.

What countries am I allowed to visit?

You can move freely over these countries: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

However, we do not allow our motorhomes to be driven to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey or Morocco. Not only for them not being covered by our insurance plan, but also for safety reasons.

What happens if I have an accident?

An accident is the worst-case scenario on any holiday – thankfully, it does not happen often. But if it does happen, be sure that we will not leave you stranded and without any help in a foreign country. We will always be there to help you sort the situation out and get you back on the road as soon as possible. This includes helping find a garage to do minor repairs, our assistance on the phone, or even providing you with a replacement motorhomes from our backup fleet. In the case of a bigger scratch or any damage to the motorhomes or its contents, always let us know immediately by phone. If someone else is involved (or someone else’s property), always call the Police to write a report, and call us as soon as possible.

How do I make the payment?

You will need a credit/debit card which allows online payments.
After signing the rental contract, you’ll pay 30% of the final price as a deposit. This payment is due 45 days prior to your rental’s start date. At the time of a pick up, you will only pay security deposit of 1500 €. All payments are made through a secure payment gateway provided by GP webpay (https://www.europecamperrental.com/). You will need  credit/debit card which allows online payments.

Do the motorhomes have an automatic or manual transmission?

We offer both motorhomes with automatic and manual transmission.

Do you have child seats?

Taking your children or grandchildren for vacation sounds like a great adventure! Before setting off on a driving vacation, you should ensure that appropriate child seats will be provided for your little ones. For only 5 EUR/day we will supply a seat that will fit your child’s weight and height. The maximum fee for this service is 150 EUR per rental.

How many people can travel in one motorhome

All of our motorhomes have beds for 4 adults and 1 child-sized bed. There are belted passenger seats for 5 adults, but we do not suggest traveling with so many adults in the motorhome because it becomes a bit overcrowded and just not very comfortable. For larger groups that want to travel and camp together, we can always arrange for several motorhomes to be picked up and dropped off at the same time and place so that everyone can travel together in the “motorhome style.” This option is very popular with groups of families that want to travel and camp together, but also want to have the privacy and comfort of their own motorhome.

Do we need a highway sticker?

Some countries require a special windscreen sticker known as a “Vignette” for driving on highways. Our motorhomes are equipped with vignettes for Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. In other countries (e.g., France, Italy), you have to pay a toll as you go. In Norway, there is an additional payment system in use (you will receive an additional invoice after your trip, issued with the contact information you provided). For more information about the road tolls, visit www.tolls.eu/

What happens if the car breaks down?

There are three emergency assistance numbers. One for road assistance (flat tire), one for engine and car base, and one for the motorhome parts of the car. There is also our 24/7 help-line available which is a real human who knows your case and can send the appropriate help to you. All of these will be given to you when you pick up your motorhome.

What about insurance?

We are required by law to protect ourselves and our rental customers with a third-party liability insurance. In other words, this covers you for damage to property and persons outside the vehicle. What you are liable for is a damage to, or theft of the motorhome and its contents. This responsibility is limited by an amount of 1500 € which you pay as security deposit at the time of pick up. In case of damage, we don’t take the whole deposit no questions asked, we always consider the extent of the damage.

We also offer an excess reduction plan which can reduce your excess to only 500 €.

Feel free to ask for more details.

Do I need a special driving license?

No, only a standard driving license, Class B, for vehicles with total weight up to 3,500 kg is needed. However, you should be comfortable driving on the right side of the road. Also keep in mind the elevated height of the motorhome.

How does the anywhere pick up and drop off work?

Our driver will be waiting for you with your motorhome at your chosen address and time. And we will, of course, give you the driver’s telephone number in advance. By the time you pick it up, your motorhome is fully equipped, clean, and ready to go. Please allow one hour for the instructions and paperwork. This includes checking the car, taking pictures, and giving instructions on how to drive it and how to use the equipment, also signing damage report and online payment of rent a security deposit. Our driver will then return by his own means.

Drop off is essentially the same thing. Our driver will meet you at the address and time you have chosen, he will check the motorhome, take the keys and that’s all.
